I can't have 2 telecasters because mine is now mod'ed to my liking. I don't want to mod a second one!

But... fine... I'm saving for the cheapest but good enough LP type guitar. Is a Epiphone LP-100/r good enough? Red with cream pickguard. There's one in my area for $200. I can haggle it down of course.

There's also a Cort EVL-6. But the bridge looks weird to me and missing something...

Dammit... my finger got itchy and accidentally ordered the pitch key for $28!

Please don't tell my wife...

Only you can decide what "good enough" is. If you feel you're compromising, then I'd say, no, it's not good enough.

From those two options, I would go with the Hipshot, as they have a good reputation. I don't like the look of what the pitch key does to the string. I can see it leaving a crimp that could affect tuning stability.

My personal solution is to use a drop D capo, 022222, so that I'm playing in drop E, but it would depend on what you are trying to achieve.

I've also seen devices that screw to the headstock and bend the string.

Good! Please let us know how you like it. I've never seen one. Thanks.
