I do, but not well. Mine is open G and all that I can handle.

Are you playing a 3 string or something more unusual like a full 6? Sometimes I think I should have built mine as a true diddly bow with just one string, I could probably play that.

Mine is also a 3 stringer, but I haven't tried any alternative tuning.

I was tempted to build a nicer one with 6 strings, but then I ended up just building a telecaster instead. Jury is still out if I chose well or not.

I've tried it, and my mate plays one in a band. Some folks get on well with them, Seasick Steve is pretty famous and one of my favourites:

It is easy enough to find info on his tunings. Apparently he uses Ggb.

I've played slide for a long time, and prefer more strings, though I can get by with three or four. With four strings you could tune 575, 757, 345 or 543 semitone intervals, bass to treble, for power or open major chords, suitable for blues, folk or rock.

FWIW, If I was looking for another easy project it would be another lap steel. - They seem to be coming back into fashion again.

I have been building and playing Cigar Box Guitars for about 5 years---everything from simple 1-string diddly bows to full-on sixers---I have built over 40 so far, and sold or gifted most of them. Here are some of the ones I kept for myself!
