Samson Just getting started
Default It's time to say "Hello"

Hello all! I have been lurking here, on and off, for awhile and decided it was time to be more transparent.
I live in southern Ontario Canada. Love the summers and hate everything to do with winter.
My younger years was mostly made up of playing my 1972 ES 335, which I still have, in country and dance combos. The rest of my time was spent trying to eek out some kind of living flying airplanes.
I went on about 20 year hiatus from playing. It wasn't until recently and buying a 2013 American Special Telecaster, which I traded for a new mim Tele' Standard (didn't like the jumbo frets on the Special), that my passion for playing returned and I took on trying to learn to play the instrument properly in different techniques and styles i.e. finger/thumb picking, etc..
My taste in music can be pretty much described by using the old adage "If you can't whistle it..it ain't music". I know that makes me sound even older than I am, but that is pretty much the way I have always been. That makes me pretty unpopular with blues and jazz fans. Sorry.
So, I guess that's about it. Thanks for having me.

Samson I hope your a trouble maker. We could really do with one around these parts as it's a bit quiet, and I don't have the strength.

Welcome in.

Welcome to the forum. Toots Theilman would disagree with the whistle thing. Check out "Bluesette". Toots and his harmonica left Richmond, Va. and went to NYC and hit it big in the Jazz scene. There are all sorts of "Git Pickers" here.
