Yesterday my Godin ACS Slim (solid body electric with nylon strings) was to arrive via FedEx. Looking at tracking it says "Delivery exception, business closed or resident not home".

I was home all day and no delivery was attempted and no notice left. Supposedly it's on the truck again today for delivery.

I hate it when items are sent requiring a signature and yet I have to send my items that way as well just to prevent someone from saying they didn't receive it.

With an expensive item you can't afford even one "mistake" or that's all your profit for probably all that you will ever sell.

I hate when that happens. That's happened to me, and I KNOW the Fedex/UPS/whoever didn't attempt a delivery (and why I keep getting my Prime membership extended).

Sometimes I waive the signature (sometimes, you can't, and I wouldn't either for a big ticket item). I only have 5 neighbors in my building. Half of us hate each other, but overall, we're honest. We often take boxes from the unlocked portion of the lobby into the locked portion for each other.

Really sucks you didn't get your guitar. When I'm expecting a guitar, I want it YESTERDAY.

I live in a house in a safe neighborhood so there is no worry about my package being stolen but I understand it from the sellers point of view as that is my point of view as a seller as well.

Most items I have received in the past don't require a signature and I haven't really had a problem, until now, with the driver not actually stopping or getting the wrong house.

I don't get much from FedEx either so I'm not that aware of what time they are in the neighborhood so it pretty much traps me at home all day. Most of my items seem to come by UPS.

Most things I get at home is by UPS/USPS. I get lots of time sensitive things at my job via FedEx. They seem to be the go-to for things that are time sensitive.

I think you can call FedEx to find out where the driver is. They have gps on 'em, and drivers are tracked. The drivers tell me they hate being tracked like that; I would be too.

The USPS is notorious for scanning things as delivered as soon as they leave the depot.

Interesting shipping discussion, I order a lot of stuff for my work, I like fedex, more reliable and they arrive earlier in the day. UPS is ok, but I get more delays with them. The one I know for sure to avoid is on-trac, they are NOT on track with deliveries, I've had them try to deliver in the wrong city and state a few times. Like, did you even read the label????
