This track was suggested by Plankton a week ago.......you had a week to get your shit together & get your coke, lol.

This is not a contest, it doesn't have to be perfect, it's a game to get people interested in playing instead of "debating". You don't have to practice & perfect & polish your attempts, most people post them warts & all. It's about sharing ideas as well as clams & learning from one another.

Past experience has shown that if the deadline is 2 days or 2 months the end result is the same. If the deadline keeps getting pushed ahead over & over what are we accomplishing?

Hardly any guessers & last time no one put up their full track for critique.

I know most of your are bored stiff with playing & have been doing it for years but for me, I am still excited & learning & enjoy these things. Plus I have no life

The last few were. Often, it does drag on. Time is often tight for me, but I did spend a good part of yesterday messing with my strat's pickup heights. Both are sounding pretty awesome now. I really was going to lay something down earlier, but I wanted delay, but my pedal just isn't responding.

I have to practice and get it as good as I can, then I still wish I did a few more re-takes

I am hoping next week things will calm a bit at work . I have just been too knackered at night to be honest .

Oh just record something. It doesn't have to be perfect. I just listened to my submission and I don't like it.

Awesome guys! I downloaded the track and listened to it a few times during my breaks at work and otw home.

Cool sounds, soothing (except for the last track. what was he/she thinking???)

My guess...
- Hi Hat (did I hear a Phrygian riff in there? Cool touch man. As always, smooth!)
- Jase (jazz fusion vibes. nice man!)
- Plank ('Ethereal' defined! Nice work with the reverb/delay. Man, you gotta tell me about it. And that legato run! Wow! I can only dream.)
- Ron (yup, its Ron thinking of cranking it alright!)
- Aly (your BG was right!)
- Goose (dunno what to say. he gives me a headache)

Yes, it's a 'hear it in your head', gotta create it as it played in the head kinda thing

To a large extent, these jam tracks are really just an exercise. It's not the normal situation to be expected to solo for 3, 4, or 5 minutes. It's perfectly understandable if the first minute or two is finding your footing and then perhaps there is 30 or 60 seconds of good stuff. Sometimes you just surprise yourself and it's pretty damn good from beginning to end.

You have to step back sometimes too. It has happened at least twice to me where I posted what I thought was utter garbage and a week later considered it to be amongst my best playing.

Part of the beauty of improvising is your audience doesn't know what you were going for, so they don't hear "a miss"...there's no playing it wrong .

I'm not familiar with most of the players on this so I'm not even going to waste anybody's time with my guesses. Some really great playing though...I did listen through. Quite a variety of approaches with is really interesting to hear!

Nicely done all.

You may find yourself saying "so Squid, how come you aren't participating...hmmmm??". This squid has an assignment from Miss Aly that must be completed. It will be worth the wait .
