Default Band jamming out Black Night - Deep Purple

Learnt the song in the morning then we jammed it that (last) night. Reasonably tight for a first time with no rehearsal. We basically just discussed how we might end it given the record is one where it fades out. We just went for it after that.

I just play along to the track (usually after watching someone play it first which gives me an idea where on the fret board I should be) and I suss the rest out from there by ear. It helps that I know the song. Its a much harder process if the boys ask me to play something I'm not familiar with.

yeah I understand. I haven't learned a lot of anyones stuff. Some comftably numb and oh well. ghost of tom joad. But its different in a band situation. You have to learn fast and remember lots. Something I do neither of well. But I think your getting a good consistent sound. looks like a ton of fun.
