Colin Peters Just getting started
Default Greetings from the new guy

Hi everyone, new member here. I look forward to checking out the forums.

A bit about me: I've been playing guitar off and on since 1990. I played electric guitar most of that time, and I've just released my first electric guitar album after releasing three acoustic albums, all instrumental.
I'm a huge geek when it comes to recording gear, audio engineering, and guitars in general.

Cheers from Canada

Im new at all of this...kinda.
I just plugged a Focusrite 6i6 into my PC got it to play through the PC.
Plugged a guitar in the 6i6 & no sound.
I'll get it figured out, it was getting late & I was mentally spent from other stuff.
Long story short, Im trying to learn to play, learn Band In A Box & put a nice little studio
together all at the same time. And oh..my PC & printer decided to give me a hard time also, I won that battle LOL.
So thanks for the offer for help, thing is I havent tried hard enough yet to really ask for help.

No worries, Gene. I've been there before where you get no sound, and it's usually something simple. Which recording software are you using?

Ive been playing with Band In A Box the last few weeks..(2018 edition)
Its very intimidating to me, but it least I have different styles & chords to choose and play along with.. I did get my guitar to play through the Focusrite 6i6
Ive been using a Fender DSP amp, 2 channels..I used the 2nd channel for my backing tracks, its been rather crude playing out of my headphone jack into the amp for backing tracks.. Ive stepped up my game with the 6i6 and a pair of Yamaha HS8 Studio Monitors which should be here today! The 6i6 came with all sorts of rec software also..
My next challenge is to get some amp effects flowing, seeing how I wont be using the DSP amp...I started all this 10 years ago, then started working 6 & 7 days 12 hr days..
Just didnt have the time to be fully devoted! I recently took a very early retirement its game on now!
