Question Looking to identify this bass I saw Fleet Foxes perform with

Saw the amazing Fleet Foxes live recently, and was very intrigued by the bass they used for some of their songs. It had a single pickup, a huge headstock, and a very deep body, almost like an acoustic bass.

Never seen one like it, might very well be custom built I suppose. Hopefully someone here can help out

Here are a couple images of it:

It looks like an old Kay.

It looks like an old Kay bass from the 50's or 60's. I wouldn't be surprised if it was because there are lot of dummies out there playing those old junkers because they either think it looks cool or they just don't know any better.

Hmm. I have a Kay here that I love playing, so I guess I'm one of those "dummies that play old junkers because I don't know any better". I also have a 60's Silvertone, a '68 Tiesco Bass and 6 stringer.

They are odd looking guitars which I find really cool because they're not the norm, but they play awesome. And they are history of what I would consider art with effect.

I agree with a Kay.

Whoa, a bass with a Bigsby? I wouldn't call it a junker. I think it looks retro cool.

I also have a Tiesco violin bass from the 60's but it won't hold a candle to my modern Alvarez Bass. My first electric guitar was a two pickup Kay that had the metal parallelagram pickguard that would slice and dice your hand and it wouldn't hold a candle to my first Fender Mustang.
