All you need to know is, if it's swollen for more than 4 hours, go to the hospital. Now stop with your double entendres.

Time to go to Best Buy...throwing $$ out like no tomorrow.

I guess it's possible. I use a wireless keyboard and mouse. There a dongle thing that's the receiver?

Yup, they make a BT dongle: http://www.howtogeek.com/201004/the-...your-computer/
Well if you ever need bluetooth there is the answer.

My last 4 laptops have been Toshiba and HP and both have been outstanding. Don't think I have paid over $600. Although you do get a lot more for $600 these days.

I got my UCG102 this week, but have spent just a little time with it. It connected with my macBook and Garageband pretty effortlessly. I tried to load the included CD with amp models, but couldn't get it to run at all. Like I said, I didn't spend too much time poking at it, yet. What I want to get set up is playing my guitar into the computer with an amp model, hearing the sound through headphones, and I want be able to play backing tracks to play along with. Garageband may do that, but as you might have guessed, I have a great distaste for reading manuals. It's probably the engineer side of me - things like guitars should be intuitive and simple. I don't plan on doing any recording, so I'm hoping to find a very simple amp simulator that lets the backing tracks play with it.

I almost bought one of the Vox amPlugs. They have an aux input that might take a another device (my laptop) playing the backing track. Has anyone used an amPlug? Does it work like that?

I'm pretty sure it's plug and play on macs. I think I saw that in the description, unless I'm thinking of the knockoffs I've seen on ebay for less than $10.
Anything that says "Class Compliant" is 100% plug and play on all Apple devices with Apple software and Audacity in my experience though you often need to restart audacity unlike the Apple apps that detect and add it without an app restart. I've tried several similar devices including my "carry everywhere in my guitar case" $29 RockSmith cable and they were all plug in, available, and ready to go in under a minute. No reboots, installs, etc. just plug it in and go.

DO NOT install any software that comes with the cheaper AI devices. Yes, I know all the manuals say to install the software first, but that's usually total BS on a MAC and just something the writers are brainwashed to say because its almost always true on a Windows computer, i.e. you need the drivers. Usually the software is total garbage and causes more problems than it is worth. The company also wants the software installed because it usually requires registration to work and that way they get your name and address to use for marketing or sell.

The Apple "Class Compliant" drivers are part of OS X/iOS and are maintained and updated by Apple so you do not need drivers for basic audio and MIDI IO. You only need new custom drivers when the software communicates with the AI and can modify its behavior. I only install the software later and then if and only if it is required for some feature of the AI I need. OS X has pretty good built in audio and MIDI tools and GB is pretty much free as a great starting DAW.

I can't get the software to work either. It does install but nothing happens with it. Like Slim said I could try compatibility mode but Im not really interested in Guitar Sims anyway from 2007. I wanted mine to record and it does great so far.

I was playing around with it tonight. I used Garageband for the guitar and amp setting, setting the output to the computer speakers instead of the UCG102. Then I started YouTube on a backing track. Both sources played thought the speakers, or headphones, which is what I wanted. Just have to adjust the volume on each to get the proper balance. It all sounds pretty good. The Garagebands amp sims aren't bad at all.
