Here's a sample of one of those, always loved this song, sounds like Chorus on the bass to my ear.

What drawn me to the Chorus is Cindy Lauper's "Time After Time". I got a cheap Arion Chorus/Flanger. Not sure which model. It could do both, so I wasn't really sure how they were different. If I remember it right, I just turn a knob to get chorus or flanger.

oh yeah that song has it too, chorus seems to be in tons of songs. It's my favorite effect, I fell in love with the sound way back when I first started playing in the 80's. Best chorus I ever had was built into a Roland JC 77 I had in the 80's. Twin 12 speakers with stereo chorus, thick, lush with no swirly sounds.

Phase is the weird one to me, it's stated it's similar to chorus and flange, but really it's more similar to a wah. My amp (and also the phasers in my RP360) let you phase lock, or basically have zero sweep, just pick a phase setting and it stays there, it's very much like using a wah wah pedal and not moving it, just leaving it in one spot for a different tone.

A Perfect Circle's song "Brena" has a chorused bass guitar intro that just sounds awesome. I duplicated it with my Boss Chorus, and just left the settings there. Just a cool spacey sound. When the guitar kicks in, he's also using the same chorus sound.

Chorus is my favorite of those kinds of effects, subtle enough yet still effective enough.
